চীনের স্মার্টফোন নির্মাতা শাওমি পরবর্তী প্রজন্মের ফ্ল্যাগশিপ স্মার্টফোন এমআই ৭ তৈরিতে কাজ করছে। এ বছরের জুন নাগাদ নতুন ওই ফোনের ঘোষণা দিতে পারে প্রতিষ্ঠানটি। নতুন ওই ফোন ঘিরে প্রযুক্তিবিষয়ক ওয়েবসাইটগুলোয় প্রতিবেদন প্রকাশিত হচ্ছে। গুঞ্জন রয়েছে, এমআই ৭ স্মার্টফোনটির ডিসপ্লের মধ্যে ফিঙ্গারপ্রিন্ট সেন্সর থাকবে। সম্প্রতি চীনের সামাজিক যোগাযোগের মাধ্যম ওয়েবুর এক পোস্টে এমআই ৭ সম্পর্কে তথ্য প্রকাশিত হয়। তাতে বলা হয়, নতুন ফোনটিতে কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তাযুক্ত উন্নত ক্যামেরা থাকবে। এর ক্যামেরা রেডমি নোট ৫ প্রোর মতো হতে পারে। ফোনটির পেছনে আইফোন টেনের মতো গ্লাস ব্যাক প্যানেল থাকতে পারে। প্রায় বেজেলহীন স্মার্টফোনটির পেছনে এলইডি ফ্ল্যাশের ১৬ মেগাপিক্সেলের দুটি ক্যামেরা, ইউএসবি টাইপ সি, ৩ হাজার ১৭০ মিলিঅ্যাম্পিয়ার ব্যাটারি থাকবে। অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ওরিও অপারেটিং সিস্টেমের ফোনটির ওপরে এমআইইউআই ৯ ইন্টারফেস থাকবে। ৬ জিবি র‍্যামের ফোনটিতে ব্যবহৃত হবে কোয়ালকম স্ন্যাপড্রাগন ৮৪৫ প্রসেসর। নতুন স্মার্টফোনটির দাম সম্পর্কে বা অন্য দেশে কবে নাগাদ আসতে পারে, সে সম্পর্কে কোনো তথ্য আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে প্রকাশ করেনি শাওমি ক

১৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে বাংলাদেশে চতুর্থ প্রজন্মের ইন্টারনেট সেবা ফোর-জি চালু করতে যাচ্ছে মোবাইল অপারেটররা। এ নিয়ে মানুষের, বিশেষ করে তরুণ প্রজন্মের মধ্যে আগ্রহ লক্ষ করা যাচ্ছে। ফোর-জির কারণে তারা কী সেবা পাবেন, সারা দেশে এই সেবা পাওয়া যাবে কি না, তা নিয়ে এখন চলছে নানা আলোচনা। এই আলোচনার মধ্যে কিছুটা হতাশ হতে হচ্ছে জনপ্রিয় মোবাইল ফোনসেট আইফোন গ্রাহকদের। যখন অন্যান্য হ্যান্ডসেটের গ্রাহকেরা ফোর-জি সেবা উপভোগ করবেন, তখন আইফোনের মালিকদের তাকিয়ে দেখা ছাড়া আর কিছুই করার থাকবে না। কেননা শুরুতেই ফোর-জি পাচ্ছেন না অ্যাপল ব্যবহারকারীরা। মুঠোফোন অপারেটর সূত্র জানায়, আইফোনে ফোর-জি সেবা আসতে কিছুটা সময় লাগবে। আর সেটা চার থেকে পাঁচ সপ্তাহ হতে পারে। তার মানে হলো মার্চের শেষের দিকে ফোর-জি সেবা পাবেন আইফোন গ্রাহকেরা। বাংলাদেশের মোবাইল অপারেটরদের সঙ্গে কিছু কারিগরি বিষয় যথাযথভাবে শেষ করতে এ সময় লাগবে অ্যাপলের। তাই আপাতত বাংলালিংক, রবি বা গ্রামীণফোনের আইফোন গ্রাহকদের একটু বেশি সময় অপেক্ষা করতেই হচ্ছে।

একুশে ফেব্রুয়ারি আন্তর্জাতিক মাতৃভাষা দিবস উপলক্ষে বাংলা ভাষায় ই-মেইল ঠিকানা যুক্ত করার ঘোষণা দিয়েছে বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম সফটওয়্যার নির্মাতা প্রতিষ্ঠান মাইক্রোসফট। গতকাল ২১ ফেব্রুয়ারি এক ব্লগ পোস্টে মাইক্রোসফট এ তথ্য জানিয়েছে। ওই ব্লগ পোস্টে ই-মেইল ঠিকানায় ১৫টি ভাষা সমর্থনের কথা বলা হয়। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে বাংলা, হিন্দি, বোড়ো, ডগরি, কনকানি, মৈথিলি, মারাঠি, নেপালি, সিন্ধি, গুজরাটি, মণিপুরি, পাঞ্জাবি, তামিল, তেলেগু ও উর্দু। মাইক্রোসফট জানিয়েছে, আউটলুক অ্যাকাউন্টের ক্ষেত্রে স্থানীয় ভাষার ই-মেইল ঠিকানা ব্যবহার করা যাবে। পিসি, আউটলুক ডটকম, অ্যান্ড্রয়েড ও আইওএস প্ল্যাটফর্মে আউটলুক অ্যাপসে স্থানীয় ভাষায় ই-মেইল আদান-প্রদান করতে পারবেন। মাইক্রোসফটের অন্যান্য সেবা, যেমন: অফিস ৩৬৫, এক্সচেঞ্জ অনলাইন, এক্সচেঞ্জ অনলাইন প্রোটেকশন ও ই-মেইল অ্যাপসের ক্ষেত্রেও নতুন সেবাটি পাওয়া যাবে। মাইক্রোসফটস ই-মেইল অ্যাড্রেস ইন্টারন্যাশনালাইজেশনের (ইএআই) অংশ হিসেবে নতুন ভাষা সমর্থনের এ বিষয় যুক্ত করা হচ্ছে বলে জানিয়েছে মাইক্রোসফট। মাইক্রোসফট বলছে, ভারতীয় অঞ্চলের ভাষাগুলো অনলাইনে খুব বেশি তুলে ধরা হয় না। ভারতে ৪৪৭টি ভ
